The decade old project is still evolving! The new firmware v2.3 update adds a number of new features all of which are intended to make it easier to create dynamically changing sequences during both studio and live performance. Here are some of the new features:

• Variable step length – no more boring same length steps!
• Step jumps – easily control which part of the sequence is being played on the fly
• Note scale constraints – change notes manually or randomize them on the fly without hitting a wrong note.
• Alternate step notes – specify up to three alternate step notes which will be played instead of the main step note under selected conditions
• Locked step notes – exclude certain steps from randomization creating stable notes
• Most step parameters now have conditions further improving sequence variability

MidiSync got a firmware update to version 1.12 that adds the following functionality:

• Start and Stop hold modes are now controlled independently
• Added ‘hold until the next beat’ option, previously it could hold until next bar only
• Added Restart action that sends MIDI Stop/Start to restart downstream devices (thanks to PaulS), also optionally delayed until next beat or bar.

Finally, MidiSync firmware got a proper manual.

Firmware v3.40 replaces the DUAL mode with a new DUOphonic mode so you can enjoy those quints and power chords! If you still need the old DUAL mode please consider using QUAD mode instead setting the Strobe Gate option to on.

Also, as a drive by change: the PitchBend CV was replaced with the AfterTouch CV which makes more sense since Midi2CV Mk2 now supports software pitchbend.

MidiALF and MidiREX firmwares were also updated getting the better internal clock implementation with more accurate swing and tap tempo.

MidiARP, MidiSEQ and MidiGrids firmwares were updated getting a better internal clock implementation with more accurate swing and tap tempo. Plus minor bug fixing and improvements here and there.

MidiSEQ firmware was also updated to v1.00 and is now considered feature complete. There is no program memory left anyway, so adding new features will not be possible without sacrificing existing ones.

This update adds a new Gate mode “step” which plays notes in the current step until the next step is triggered. This is useful with the external note sync (when KeySync is set to “step”) because it allows you to play steps using the external keyboard with full controll over step advance and not duration.

The update also adds shift+click actions to the Record page, which allow you to quickly clear the recorded sequence and set modifiers on all steps of the sequence. This facilitates use of the sequencer in the recording mode.

MidiARP firmware was finally updated to v1.00 and is now considered feature complete. Aside from minor bug fixes and stability improvements, this update adds MIDI Program Change handling that facilitates live playing. It also gets rid of an obscure UI feature that toggled between the current and default parameter value when the switch is pressed while in parameter editing mode.

Starting with firmware version 3.10 Midi2CV Mk2 supports software pitch bend when Note CV is affected by MIDI Pitch Bend events. Pitch bend range is configurable between 1 and 12 semitones. This makes it possible to use Pitch Bend in modes where Pitch bend CV is not available.
